Our Story

Every great dish begins with a gathering and ours began in a little apartment called B6.

For years, B6 isn't just an address. It was a tradition. Every weekend, more than forty friends would pour into that flat, some with stories, some with stress, all looking for a place to unwind. B6 became our escape from the week’s chaos, a space where laughter echoed louder than deadlines and friendships simmered like slow-cooked dum biryani.

In that warm, noisy, joy-filled apartment, Our passion for cooking quietly took root. We cooked together, experimented with flavors, and fed the people we loved. Those evenings weren’t fancy, but they were real-Hyderabadi at heart.

Still, something tugged at me. I wanted to recreate the true taste of Hyderabad, the kind you find in the old city lanes, in wedding feasts, in family kitchens where recipes are passed down like heirlooms.

So on a trip back to India, I turned to a close friend, a seasoned chef who cooks authentic Hyderabadi food at large-scale weddings. Under his guidance, I unlearned shortcuts, relearned tradition, and absorbed the craft the way it’s meant to be learned: patiently, passionately, and with deep respect for every spice.

When I returned to Redmond and cooked again, everything changed. The aroma was unmistakable. The flavors were bold, layered, nostalgic. Our friends tasted it and said the words that sparked everything: “This is real Hyderabadi biryani.”

And that’s when the idea was born.

If Seattle didn’t have a place that served authentic Hyderabadi biryani, the kind that instantly transports you "home" why not create one? Why not share the flavors that shaped our weekends, our friendships, and our memories?

That’s how B6 Biryani came to life.

Named after the flat where it all began, B6 Biryani is our tribute to friendship, to Hyderabad, and to the joy of feeding people.

A Note to Our Critics (Yes)
To every friend who tasted our early experiments and said, “Needs more salt,” “Too spicy,” or “Bro, what is this?” - thank you.
To my nephew, whose feedback was always delivered with the confidence of a MasterChef judge ;).
To everyone who stirred a pot, chopped an onion, washed a dish, or simply showed up hungry, you helped shape this journey more than you know.

Today, we’re here to serve the same food that once brought our friends together, food crafted with authenticity, patience, and heart.

Welcome to B6 Biryani.
Welcome to a taste of Hyderabad.
